About
Howdy. I write a lot about politics, social movements, and grassroots strategies and tactics at Beyondthechoir.org (my posts are all here), but sometimes I want to write about random things that don’t really fit that site’s mission. And sometimes I want to drop a few tentative ideas without first having to work all the way through them. Because maybe someone who reads this will have related ideas — or suggested readings — that I should consider before I spend 100 hours refining my thoughts. So yeah, this is my sloppy blog. You’ve been warned.

Hi Johnathon,
I just came across your site and have found it to be very interesting. I am author and journalist who specializes in writing and publishing stories of ordinary people changing the world, and a long-time social change agent (I won’t say activist) in the Twin Cities area. I had an article published recently in the national PSJA newsletter. I have just published the second book in my compassionate rebel series called The Compassionate Rebel Revolution: Ordinary People Changing the World which should give you a different perspective on the word “revolution.” A local peace and justice professor is currently working on an educator’s guide that will be used with the book in college and high school classrooms. It should be ready for winter quarter.
Please go to my website at compassionaterebel.com and read about the book. The Foreword should tell you everything you need to know but there also chapter excerpts and other links. If you are interested in getting a copy for review and possible recommendations, for its use, or just want to discuss it, let me know.
Thanks.
Peace and best wishes. And welcome to the revolution.
